Please mark your calendars to join us May 3-9, 2017 at Cozy Acres Campground in scenic Powhatan, VA for the Royale Coach Club spring rally. Our campground hosts will be Jean and Larry Daniels, campground owners and fellow RCC members. Powhatan is just west of Richmond VA, an area steeped in history. Final itineraries are still in the planning stages but will definitely include Civil War history museums in Richmond and a trip to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home in Charlottesville. There will be plenty of free time for shopping, golf, and sight-seeing on your own- along with good food and warm fellowship .



RALLY HIGHLIGHTS
Breakfast daily May 4-8

  • May 3 5 pm – Millennium Welcome Cocktail Reception
  • May 4 Charlottesville & Thomas Jefferson
    • Guided tour of the University of Virginia, designed by Thomas Jefferson
    • Lunch at historic Michie (pronounced Mickey) Tavern, with time for shopping
    • Guided tour of Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home
    • Back at the campground: beer & wine hour sponsored by Rally Masters Richard and Denny McCurdy, catered dinner by Campground Hosts Jean and Larry Daniels
  • May 5 Free Day – carpool as a group to a local restaurant for dinner
  • May 6 Civil War Petersburg
    • Buffet lunch at Pamplin Historical Park
    • Guided tour of Civil War Petersburg – Petersburg was the object of the longest military campaign ever waged against an American city. We will learn about the cost of war on the citizens of Petersburg.
    • Back at the campground: beer & wine hour sponsored by Rally Masters Richard and Denny McCurdy, catered dinner by Campground Hosts Jean and Larry Daniels
    • Entertainment arranged by Jean Daniels
  • May 7 Business meeting – followed by a Free Day
  • May 8 Richmond, Capitol of the Confederacy
    • Guided tour of Richmond, to include visits to the Museum and White House of the Confederacy, Tredegar Iron Works (the Confederacy’s most important industrial complex), the VA State Capitol (designed by Thomas Jefferson), and more.
    • Lunch on your own in historic Shockoe Slip.
    • Confederate Richmond Dinner- experience Richmond as the Capitol of the Confederacy during wartime, its hospitality, food and music.
  • May 9 Happy Trails and Safe Travels
There is so much to do in the area on the free days, and information will be provided. Shopping, golf, innumerable Civil War sites, museums – you may find it difficult to choose!
